Dr. Kelly Calkins, Au.D, F-AAA

Kelly graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelors in Communication Disorders, Florida State University with a Masters Degree in Audiology, and from the Arizona School of Health Sciences with a Doctorate of Audiology. 

Kelly is the mother of two wonderful (of course they are) children, Tyler and Lael.  She loves to travel.  A couple of years ago she and Lael went to Vietnam on a hearing aid mission trip and helped to fit hundreds of orphans with hearing aids.  Another great trip was to Peru where the whole family hiked the Inca trail for 4 days, ending up at the ancient city of Machu Pichu.  She is also studying Spanish so that she can go on missions trips to South and Central America. 

Rich Calkins, J.D., HIS

Rich Calkins is a licensed hearing specialist of 15 years.  He specializes in fitting and troubleshooting hearing aids, and researching the latest technologies.  Rich earned a bachelors degree in Finance from Georgia State University , and a degree of Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law.  Although he enjoyed being an attorney, Rich decided his heart was really with helping people hear better.  So he returned to Alpha Hearing Center full time.  Besides, he really missed working with Kelly! 

Tyler Calkins

Recently, their son Tyler joined the staff and is working toward his hearing aid license.  Tyler is a graduate of Wake Forest University, and holds a Bachelors degree in Spanish, a minor in German and a second minor in International Trade and Commerce.  Tyler hopes to go on and earn his Doctorate of Audiology.   

When Tyler was young, he sang in the world renowned Atlanta Boy Choir for several years.  Tyler traveled to several countries with the Boy Choir including Italy, Spain, Russia, Holland, Finland and Canada.  His love for music brought him to a place where he decided that he too wanted to help people hear better.  Besides, he practically grew up here and many of our patients remember him as a very young child.  

Kelly and Rich's daughter, Lael, is in college and working towards her degree in audiology as well.  Her trip to Vietnam convinced her that helping people hear better was her calling too.  So as you can see, Alpha Hearing Center will be here for a long time to come!
